Aviv Shahar had just wrapped up an intensive three-day gathering with the Epoch Journey network, and Jeff Vander Clute had recently completed a month-long solo pilgrimage in Ladakh, India, when they connected for a series of conversations to debrief, reflect, and compare notes.
As Aviv shares early in the conversation: “I was doing these Epoch Journey traces in which a core premise is that something is shifting, something big is changing for humanity. And within that, the core premise is that we are human beings living at this time. We are the laboratory where that is taking place, living laboratories.”
What is unfolding within these living laboratories? What are the tangible and trackable results that are emerging?
Both Portals and the Epoch Journey network have been on their discovery paths for more than five years. Aviv outlines five dimensions he sees manifesting through this work with these communities: revelatory knowledge is emerging in unexpected ways; the subtle, atmospheric energetic field that joins the proceedings is growing in potency; that field is expanding what becomes possible for the individual, both in what can be accessed in the moment and what can deepen over time; and there is also a widening collective effect that may extend into the larger cosmos of which we are a part.
One essential understanding, whether you are part of a community endeavor or on a solo pilgrimage, is that the trail is the leader. The wisdom of how to proceed does not come solely from us. If we are responsive, it can arise to us and through us. We participate by making space within ourselves to sense subtle shifts, listen to intuition, attend to new insights, and cultivate a deeper attunement to what is emerging.

You are the crucible where the universe can run its experiment, you are the discovery lab where the universe can attend to its riddles. Meaning: can we work to attune to the questions, the riddles of the universe that may find us to be the best, most fitting theater of discovery?
In other words, if we are partnering with the universe, and we are part of the universe, partnering with the greater whole in this theater of life, can we listen to the riddle that wants to emerge with us? Can we listen to the inquiries that want to be fashioned through us? And, if yes, then we truly become that kind of service for the universal riddle.
