At Portals we seek to offer great content to inquiring minds, and we also want to nourish and grow a thriving community by creating an ecology of practice for engagement and exchange. Your membership supports that potential.
Throughout history, the great questions have been asked, and great research has been undertaken, always expanding the territory of the known by shining a light into the unknown. Where is that cutting edge today? And can a community of people from all over the world, each carrying their own unique journey of discovery, come together to inquire at the edge of purposeful evolution, through dialogue and interaction? We think it is possible, and we hope that you will choose to be a part of this exploration.

How often do we stop to appreciate just how practical and down to earth the universal can be?
We’ve explored on Portals the new awareness and capacities being brought online with the activation of Homo Universalis, the universal human, part of the new evolutionary energy feeling its way into the human species. The new inner technology and intelligence are meant to be applied to every corner of our lives; we evolve as a whole person. Relationships, communities, businesses — all can be elevated and transformed.
How? It starts with building what we could call an inner universal toolkit of perceptions and skills that could power any inquiry or journey of discovery. Skills such as deep listening — learning to listen with empathy and the whole of ourselves, embracing the full humanity of a person or circumstance.
Another component of the Universalis toolkit is the vast potential of loom thinking, where instead of narrowing an inquiry to a single answer, we build a loom of possibility that greatly expands the field of potential new learning and understanding. Loom thinking can enrich and deepen our contemplations and inquiries in any area of our lives, personal or professional.
To help us understand more of the practical and real-life applications of Loom Work and the Universalis possibility, Aviv Shahar is joined again by Portals' friends Karen Heney and Kyriaki Nikandrou. This conversation is part four of their exploration into the many natures and dimensions of the universal human. They looked more deeply into loom thinking and the art of the inquiry in part three.
Among their insights into the practical side of Universalis:
- We’re grappling with the nuances and nitty-gritties we face every day; bringing to life different technologies and a new operating system for humanity.
- Integrity is not just about being true to what you feel; it's about recognizing when your actions match your words, and then match the potential you have to contribute.
- Anything that needs to survive, whether a relationship or a business, needs to shed its old skin. Instead of clinging to success, what if we allow it to change, shed its skin, and see what new wants to happen?
- To create the future of a business or organization we work from the future state backward. Vision and strategy come from the future; planning, implementing, and executing we do from the current state.
- To spiritualize the world with our luminescent elevating potentials, we need to journey to and embrace the middle of life, the leading and managing, and being who we are.
- Each one of us is the most advanced research laboratory in the universe, simply by being human; part of the Homo Universalis activation.
In part one, The Homo Universalis Project traces the origins of the universal arising, and in part two, we explore the importance of creating space for the future to find us.
This conversations is part of the continuing Portals discovery into what is emerging on the frontiers of human experience in this time of profound change. Information about upcoming special events can be found on the Events page. Also visit and subscribe to our YouTube channel.
