The Subtle Sense Organs and the Many Levels of Touch – IHOW #8

Portals Practices are a wide array of activities and processes that can enhance well-being, inner balance and harmony. Practices help us integrate our inner lives and awareness and connect to our natural creative potential. We’re also tuning our lives to the greater intelligence, strength and support that is always available to us.

The practice of the Subtle Sense Organs and the Many Levels of Touch is a fascinating live exploration of the layered energy fields around us. It offers an awakening experience of how the human being is equipped with multiple subtle sense organs — physical (touch and being touched), energetic, mental, and filamental — all working together to expand and refine our sensitivity.

Think of the Internal Human Orchestra Work (IHOW) series as a way of “tuning” our inner instruments — the energies, qualities, and subtle lives — that together form the symphony a human life can become.

Steps

  • 1: Create a clear mental and physical space for a time of quiet contemplation
  • 2: Choose whether to remain seated or to stand — either posture can support the practice
  • 3: Open yourself to noticing and registering new dimensions of your system
  • 4: Follow the guidance of the narrator, or simply surrender to the inner instructions that arise along the way

What we are observing is we are living in a very different time. The struggle now is more mental than physical, more psychological and more spiritual than what it was, say two or 3000 years ago.

The kind of development and spiritualization that's emerging, that's possible now, invites us to do so as a whole human, inside the body, inside the embodied experience, because the new universal capacities that are coming online actually involve coming through this planetary experience, if you like, bringing the universal into the planetary dimension and the planetary experience.

My life is forming as I live it, explore it, evaluate and refine it. So, what to say about that evolving story?

The first instrument I discovered at a very young age was our family breakfast table.  With my little spoon I hit all things standing on that table; plates, glasses, cups, jars with metal or plastic caps, the cheese, fruits,  the wicker basket, everything in the district...

Both the sound that each object reflected back to me, as the variance of vibration in the spoon that my hand could sense was a gift, transferring a message: this is my nature.

Is music the artful translation of the expression that things, liveforms, plants, animals, humans, that creation is feeding us with, in every connective exchange we dare to engage with?
