Portals Practices are a wide array of activities and processes that can enhance well-being, inner balance and harmony. Practices help us integrate our inner lives and awareness and connect to our natural creative potential. We’re also tuning our lives to the greater intelligence, strength and support that is always available to us.
This is the fifth in a new Portals series of practices designed to bring healing, balance and relief to the busy, noisy and sometimes stressful lives that many of us may feel at one time or another. Think of the series Internal Human Orchestra Work (IHOW), as “tuning” our inner instruments — the energies, qualities and finer lives — that together produce the symphony a human life can be.
This practice marries a self-chosen movement with a quality, to strengthen our systems according to need. Be it kindness, firmness or resilience, the way of the movement is formed by the quality, which is absorbed by the whole human complex. It’s an excellent tool to let go of what we no longer need, and to invite what is needed, either in self or in the world at large.
Steps
- 1: When you are ready, sit or stand in a place that you feel at ease in
- 2: Feel the stability of the heart and all that supports your continuous process
- 3: Focus on your breathing; as you exhale, imagine the new and fresh air ready to come in
- 4: Follow the guidance of the recording, encouraging you to find movements that allow you to let go, to invite new in, and to vary in reasoning and expression
This practice is designed to promote the stability of the human system by providing increasing choices, helping you find space for your own solutions to meet your needs along the way.
