At Portals we seek to offer great content to inquiring minds, and we also want to nourish and grow a thriving community by creating an ecology of practice for engagement and exchange. Your membership supports that potential.
Throughout history, the great questions have been asked, and great research has been undertaken, always expanding the territory of the known by shining a light into the unknown. Where is that cutting edge today? And can a community of people from all over the world, each carrying their own unique journey of discovery, come together to inquire at the edge of purposeful evolution, through dialogue and interaction? We think it is possible, and we hope that you will choose to be a part of this exploration.
Portals practices are a wide array of modalities that can enhance wellbeing, inner balance and harmony. Practices help us integrate our inner lives and connect to our natural creative potential. We’re tuning our lives to greater intelligence, strength and support that are always available to us.
This is the third in a new Portals series of practices designed to bring healing, balance and relief to the busy, noisy and sometimes stressful lives that many of us may feel at one time or another. Think of the series, Internal Human Orchestra Work (IHOW), as “tuning” our inner instruments — the energies, qualities and finer lives — that together produce the symphony a human life can be.
The practice evolves as a natural sequence to the second practice, around the question: how to alter our states through different pathways, allowing movement and alternation between them?
Please share with us your experience and the benefits you registered with this and other Portals practices. This practice is part of the continuing Portals discovery into what is emerging on the frontiers of human experience in this time of profound change.

Steps
- 1: When you are ready, sit or stand in a place that you feel at ease in
- 2: Feel the weight, steady and balanced, in contact with the ground, the foundation that is provided
- 3: Focus on your breathing and appreciate the continuous flow of new air coming and going
- 4: Follow the guidance of the recording, leading you through the different octaves
In this practice we are guided through simple ways of movement and sensations to alleviate tension and stress, by feeling the effect of contracting and expanding alternatingly.
