Benefits of this practice

Portals Practices are a wide array of activities and processes that can enhance well-being, inner balance and harmony. Practices help us integrate our inner lives and awareness and connect to our natural creative potential. We’re also tuning our lives to the greater intelligence, strength and support that is always available to us.
In this, Portals IHOW #7, we create space to reconnect with our inner lives and to cultivate greater balance and settlement. These movements can help release tension and bring renewed focus and clarity into our daily experience. Think of the Internal Human Orchestra Work (IHOW) series as a way of “tuning” our inner instruments — the energies, qualities, and subtle lives — that together form the symphony a human life can become. This session naturally evolves from IHOW #6, which explored how to integrate differences, create space for the various players in our internal orchestra to listen to one another, and cooperate toward a more harmonious expression. The intention is to deepen soul settlement and access innate sources of wellbeing.
Steps
- 1: When you are ready, find a settled place
- 2: Feel your weight, steady and balanced, in contact with the ground; the foundation that is provided
- 3: Focus on your breathing and appreciate the continuous flow of new air coming and going
- 4: Follow the guidance of the recording, leading you through the different movements
In this practice we engage in a sequence of moves to facilitate the first need, which is: making space. If we are centered and grounded, having done our preparation, we can be fully present and attend to the now. Making space: somatically, mentally, emotionally and energetically, by communicating with the various players of our inner orchestra.
