Sensemaking for Life and Career, Part 4: A Three-Story House

inner levels of life

Everything we’ve been proposing in this conversation can find a place in a framework or map of meaning we can revisit at any time in the mental image of a three-story house, along with the awareness we need to be conscious of and work on all three floors.

On the ground floor we work in the business, what we do every day; on the second floor we work on the business, where we continually innovate and transform our job. On the third floor live the morality and ethics of the company, where we become more in touch with ourselves. Who are we? What drives us? How do we manage our day to ensure we have the capacity to move up and down and make the transitions between all three floors?

Join us as Aviv Shahar and Ariel Levari explore the struggles of the new workplace in an evolving world, with an eye to finding joy in the processes and challenges therein.

It's almost like the third story has more than just you living in it; it's the interconnections between you and your family, your loved ones, and the natural world around you.

Ariel Levari

It begins with you, but it continues and evolves into everything around you. This is why, as we talked about the universal operating system, you're really describing that the third floor is a place for you to enter your communion with the universe. You may descibe it with different words, but that's the potential of what that space is about.

I've always been a seeker, engaged in an unending conversation with reality, asking questions about meaning, purpose, and potential. With a bachelors in neuroscience and a masters in organizational psychology, I've spent years studying the hidden forces that drive human behavior and the structures we find ourselves embedded in.
