Finding or creating balance in our lives can be a process of inner discovery: we’re really finding ourselves. What are our boundaries? What will we accept or not accept, support or not support? How do we respond to conflict or disagreements?
We find ourselves in the light of our own experience and continually re-find ourselves, guided by a sense of purpose, even when we step into unknown situations. Learning to effectively manage our personal boundaries, interpersonal dynamics and the conflicts that may arise are important elements of the loom in the study of balance.
This series of conversations will weave a loom of considerations about a balanced life, and look at the inner awareness,
technologies, and perceptions that can help us access and get back to a life of balance, harmony and growth during times of change and challenge.
I think the reason we are talking about balance is that being in your 20s and 30s today, from my vantage point, is more difficult than it was when I was going through these stages. Then you were not dealing with a global world encroaching or reaching your doorstep, or to your device, all the time. It’s challenging, and living a balanced life, and a life that will then be able to generate wellbeing for yourself and for others, is a constant endeavor.
