When we talk about finding the right balance in our life, what exactly are we trying to bring into balance? A human life is dynamic, changing, and growing. We have many parts and systems, both physical and energetic. We know a lot about our physical anatomy, the lungs and kidneys, heart and liver, and all of the amazing internal organs that keep us alive. But we are not always aware that our energy system has its own anatomy, with different centers. When we live an imbalanced life, those energy centers affect each other, with one taking away energy from another.
A core idea or perception is that we are not just one role or one function, one thing. We are also not just one energy, but different energies, with different rhythms, cadences, and frequencies. Living a balanced life is finding ways for those energetic and physical
centers to be replenished and recharged.
This series of conversations will weave a loom of considerations about a balanced life, and look at the inner awareness, technologies, and perceptions that can help us access and get back to a life of balance, harmony and growth during times of change and challenge.
It was a small step in this direction of reminding myself that even if I'm going to stay in front of the computer all these hours in order to do the work, if I'm not feeding these other parts in me that need my attention, if I'm not going outside, if I'm not eating well, playing the cello, meeting friends, it can be that I'm actually less effective because I'm depleting the one source that I'm working on.
