Throughout history, the great questions have been asked, and great research has been undertaken, always expanding the territory of the known by shining a light into the unknown. Where is that cutting edge today? And can a community of people from all over the world, each carrying their own unique journey of discovery, come together to inquire at the edge of purposeful evolution, through dialogue and interaction? We think it is possible, and we hope that you will choose to be a part of this exploration.

A different way to think about the changing stages, or phases, of life is to consider the journey from the different lives, or "selves," that each of us represent. We can see our growth chronologically, through physical and biological maturation – our first self.

What we do with our lives – the decisions we make, the self-authored life – is our second self. Our third self is when we join something bigger than ourselves, elevating into a spiritual endeavor. Each self plays an important role in a life of self-chosen intention and purpose.

This series of conversations explores the attitudes, perceptions, behaviors and strategies that will enable us to not just continue, but accelerate growth and development in a life journey of continually unfolding possibility.

The first self is largely a product of the biology of the design, and is the automated part of living. The second self is where we are the self-authoring agency that writes, and paints, and creates the second self.

I recently retired from a successful and fulfilling Information Technology career growing and supporting a Fortune 100 company.  A critical goal, shaping the entirety of my professional career was effective life balance between family and work.

I started exploring religion and developing my search for truth and meaning during my teen years when I first attended Catholic Mass. My inquiries have since taken two pivotal turns: when a former colleague introduced me to the Unity movement and when I discovered the writings of Thich Nhat Hanh and the precepts of Buddhism.
