At Portals of Perception we are fascinated, in a forensic way, and captivated, in an evocative way with the processes and practices that are part of the human design and expression. And perhaps there is a universal sense that we all yearn to make contact with something that will allow us to feel the flow of life, and to let life speak to us and speak through us. Whenever we are in touch with our humanness and tethered to our nature, to our essence, we want to let that speak to us and we want to let that flow guide us.
So, in this sense, we can hear in the song Life Speaking a universal sound and sentiment. Aviv Shahar spoke with Aud Wilken to reflect on the re-release of her song Life Speaking, to ask how the song appeared, and to discover more about the story behind it.
I would like to reach into a place - to both speak from, and speak to - that is unguarded, that is intimate, that actually makes it easy to connect to each other and to new sources of nourishment, anything that would encourage a melting of hardness. A feeling spoken to... below any shields. Letting the music and the lyrics speak in such a way that others would feel known and seen.
