To a Portals of Perception Virtual Event on Saturday, March 19th, 1:00pm - 3:00pm EDT
Music: An Exploratory Space
What part can music play today in uplifting humans and the planet?
For as long as humans have been on Earth, music has played a vital and integral part in almost all aspects of life and living.
It is a special art, allowing expression within a vast spectrum of frequencies. This experimental session is for everyone who loves music, whether they currently are a musician or not.
This global Zoom event will be conducted by a team of people who have a wide range of interest in, and engagement with, music, with a focus on: what can music be and become in the future?
Inquiries to be explored:
- What are the reasons for, and the benefits of, playing in and with music?
- What are ways to tune oneself as a human instrument?
Our musical hosts:
- Aud Wilken, singer, songwriter, teacher – An opportunity to re-tune, to tune into newness, to catch the way of new tunes together - through the great facility and facilitator that music is
- Emmy Schaling – What in music causes it to be an instrument of empathy, meaning and originality? Let’s embark on a journey of finding out, opening ourselves up to its regenerative power, creating a resounding home for it to find itself in
- Amos Edelstein - I have a great belief in music’s ability to act as a universal bridge between people of different walks of life, as well as between the abstract, or spiritual life, and carnal life
- Paul Stone - I’m really looking forward to delving more deeply into what music can do, and what it can become, as an elevating agency in today's world. Hopefully this event will just be the first of many such explorations
