The Way We Flow
The Way We Flow

Inspiring stories of personal achievement and breakthroughs are usually easy to find, in science, technology, the arts, along with moving acts of kindness and compassion. But just as common are images of sometimes scary group or collective behavior, when a disagreement can spark what looks like retrograde tribal or even medieval-like confrontations.

What’s going on? It’s tempting to wonder if humanity is really evolving, or devolving. Why does it appear that the expressions of higher intelligence and consciousness among individuals don’t as easily or often emerge in collective or community spaces? Humans seem to do better with the “me” space than the “we” space.

Perhaps creating a space where new intelligence and capacity can emerge and transform a collective endeavor – while stimulating the best of the individual – needs a new understanding and insight. In this conversation, leaders of We-Flow describe a unique approach to the “we” space that brings together personal development, collective practices, and conscious business.

We-Flow works with companies to transform business cultures into creative ecologies where employees feel free to express the natural inner brilliance in themselves and each other. Among their insights and practices:

  • The biggest influence on a company’s success or failure is the interpersonal space – human relationships
  • It’s not what we think should happen in any moment, but using our brain, heart, and guts to feel what may actually be trying to emerge new
  • It’s important in a work ecology to allow a person to show spontaneous genius and creativity. The goal is enabling people to do their highest good – what’s most important for them in the world
  • The allowance for spontaneous genius is built on micro-agreements that have a big impact in creating a safe space that supports optimum outcomes
  • Each person has the innate capacity to bridge from natural internal wellbeing to external effective action; from being to doing, or being in doing. The key is removing the blocks to this natural flow
  • It can get into the real nitty gritty of why a company isn’t growing; it's about growing personally within a team, which is growing within an organization
  • Instead of separating what might appear to be opposite impulses, find practices that can integrate and release the creative potential in apparent polarities – beauty and rage, strength and shyness

This conversation is part of the continuing Portals discovery into what is emerging on the frontiers of human experience in this time of profound change. Information about upcoming special events can be found on the Events page. Also visit and subscribe to our YouTube channel.

On one side there is the problem that is becoming more and more urgent and pressing today: How do we create a work environment that's sustainable to people’s wellbeing, especially persistent wellbeing, especially working remotely, with the gaps of wealth between different societies within societies? How do we make the entire project of living for individual beings something more easy, more fluid, and more exciting?

What if we could transform all into “love”? I believe that we can. I find deep pleasure in working with individuals, and groups, to support them to unblock the natural Flow of Life. Having studied a "Global Challenges" program (essentially the SDGs seen from a governance and development perspective), I care deeply about today's big issues like environmental destruction and inequality. And my passion lies particularly in how we can facilitate local transformation that addresses these challenges: starting from deep personal development and continuing with relational practices and organizational transformation. Three qualities I strongly resonate with are: Curious. Loving. Driven.
